A fragmented head emerges beneath dense vertical streams of paint, as if its internal structure were leaking beyond the boundaries of the figure.
In residue_04, the boundary between interior and exterior begins to collapse. A head remains partially visible beneath a dense accumulation of vertical lines, drips and layered paint, while the upper part of the figure appears to open outward into the surrounding field.
The flowing material can be read as something escaping from within: thought, memory, pressure or bodily substance no longer contained by the limits of the head. Pale, black, red and blue traces move across the surface like an exposed internal structure, simultaneously obscuring the figure and extending it beyond itself.
Rather than presenting the face as a stable site of identity, residue_04 treats the head as a temporary container whose boundaries have begun to fail. What remains is not simply a portrait under erasure, but a figure becoming materially continuous with its surroundings.
Within the residue group, the work pushes persistence toward rupture. The figure is still present, but what once appeared contained has begun to leak outward, leaving the distinction between body, image and surrounding space increasingly unstable.
